Conditions Set for Canelo vs. Crawford Fight This Year

According to Boxing Scene, Mexican undisputed super middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg) Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs) has three potential dates for his next fight: September 7, September 14, or early October.

The deadline for Canelo to announce his next bout is approaching. On Monday, UFC President Dana White revealed that Conor McGregor would not participate in the September 14 event, allowing Alvarez to avoid competing for fan attention with the Irish star.

Moreover, if Canelo steps into the ring this fall, it will increase the chances of him having a third fight this year, potentially facing WBA, WBC, and WBO welterweight champion (up to 66.7 kg) Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Previously, it was reported that Canelo might return to the ring on September 14, with the most likely opponents being mandatory WBA challenger Edgar Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs), Jermall Charlo (33-0, 22 KOs), and Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs).

In May, Saul Alvarez secured a unanimous decision victory over Jaime Munguia (43-1, 34 KOs) to defend his undisputed title.
