Most Likely Opponents for Canelo in September

According to ESPN insider Salvador Rodriguez, Mexican undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs) is expected to return to the ring on September 14.

The most likely opponents are WBA mandatory challenger Edgar Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs) and Jermall Charlo (33-0, 22 KOs).

Canelo last fought in May against fellow countryman Jaime Munguia (43-1, 34 KOs), winning by unanimous decision.

Edgar Berlanga knocked out Pedrag McCrory (18-1, 9 KOs) in February. Jermall Charlo last fought in November 2023, winning by decision against Jose Benavidez (28-3-1, 19 KOs), and has not fought since.
