Canelo Reveals the Age He Plans to Retire

WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) shared when he might consider ending his professional boxing career.

"I don’t know exactly when, but obviously I’m approaching the end of my career. However, I feel great—better than ever. Maybe at 38? Yes, I think 38 is the perfect time to start thinking about it.

I’ve had tough fights, and some I didn’t need to take at the time. I’ve taken risks throughout my career. I really enjoy challenges and what I do, and I try to show everyone just how good I am.

I love moving between weight classes. I never look at my record and say, 'I’ve done this.' My coach always points it out and shows me what I’ve achieved—all the championship titles—and it’s very impressive," said Canelo.

Recently, Bernie Davis, the trainer of WBA junior middleweight champion Terence Crawford, revealed the date for the highly anticipated fight between Crawford and Alvarez.
