Canelo to Begin Negotiations with IBF Contender

According to insider Dan Rafael, negotiations between undisputed super middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg) Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs) and IBF mandatory challenger William Scull (22-0, 9 KOs) are set to begin on June 6.

Scull's representatives exercised their right under IBF regulations and requested an immediate purse bid for the fight. The purse bid will take place on June 6 in the USA.

The results of the bid will determine the guaranteed purse for the fighters, who will organize the bout, and the tentative timeframe for the fight.

It is worth noting that Turki Alalshikh previously expressed his frustration with the IBF for such a swift appointment of a mandatory challenger for Canelo. Later, it was revealed that Turki is planning a 5 vs 5 tournament between Mexican and American fighters, with the main event being a showdown between Canelo and Crawford for the undisputed championship.
