On March 11, at Madison Square Garden in New York, USA, during a basketball game between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers, a face-off took place between super middleweight (up to 76.2 kg) representatives Edgar Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs) and Daniel Jacobs (37-4, 30 KOs).
The moment was captured and shared on Instagram by Berlanga's manager, Keith Connolly.
Former IBF world champion Daniel Jacobs has not been in the ring since February 2022, when he lost by split decision to John Ryder (32-7, 18 KOs).
Edgar Berlanga, in February of this year in Orlando, USA, knocked out Padraig McCrory (18-1, 9 KOs) in the 6th round. Following the victory, Edgar expressed a desire to meet with undisputed champion Saul Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs). However, Canelo announced a fight against Jaime Munguia (43-0, 34 KOs), which is set for May 4 in Las Vegas, USA.
Jacobs previously faced Canelo in May 2019, where Saul won by unanimous decision.
