The WBC interim super middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg), David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs), shared his intentions for the fight against former light heavyweight champion (up to 79.4 kg), Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs).
"I know Gvozdyk personally, I've sparred with him. I know what I did to him when I was 20. It will be a great fight; I'm preparing very well, I know he's an excellent fighter.
Gvozdyk is a high-level fighter, very fast, and he has a good right hand. I know what I'm preparing for. I will definitely knock him out," said Benavidez.
The fight between Gvozdyk and Benavidez will take place on June 15th in the USA. The WBC interim light heavyweight title will be on the line. This will be Benavidez's debut in the new weight category.
Earlier, Canelo stated that he is ready to face Benavidez after fighting Munguia and set the condition.
