Benavidez Won’t Face Morrell in His Next Fight

Interim WBC Super Middleweight Champion David Benavidez (29-0, 24 KOs) announced that his next opponent will not be WBA titleholder David Morrell (11-0, 9 KOs).

"My next opponent will be Jesse Hart, not Morrell, but he will be an opponent in the future," Benavidez stated.

Earlier, Benavidez hinted that Morrell could be his next challenger.

In June, David Benavidez defeated Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-2, 16 KOs) by unanimous decision. Jesse Hart (31-3, 25 KOs) scored a fifth-round TKO against Daniel Aduku (15-6-1, 11 KOs) in April.
