Benavidez is considered the most sought-after opponent for Canelo. Alvarez himself has stated that he is ready to fight Benavidez after Munguia.
David's next fight is scheduled for June 15th in the USA, where he will face former light heavyweight champion (up to 79.4 kg) Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs). This will be Benavidez's debut in the new weight category.
