Arum Names Two Possible Opponents for Naoya Inoue

Top Rank founder and promoter Bob Arum has revealed plans for a major showdown involving his client, Naoya Inoue (28-0, 25 KOs), the undisputed champion in the super bantamweight division (up to 55.3 kg), and Junto Nakatani (28-0, KOs), the current WBC bantamweight champion (up to 53.5 kg). Arum envisions this fight taking place at Tokyo Dome in Japan.

Before that, Inoue is expected to face IBF mandatory challenger Sam Goodman (19-0, 8 KOs) on December 24 in Tokyo. Following this bout, the promoter plans to have both Inoue and Nakatani fight on the same card in April in Las Vegas, setting the stage for a future showdown between the two champions.

On September 3, Inoue successfully defended his undisputed status by defeating T.J. Doheny via a seventh-round TKO.
