Alex Pereira on Fighting Usyk: "Maybe in September?"

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has reacted to the news that Dana White has signed a deal with Turki Alalshikh to launch a new boxing promotion.

— Today, it was announced that Dana White is entering the boxing business. Does that make a fight with Oleksandr Usyk more realistic?

— Not sure. But when I saw the news, I was jumping with excitement. Who knows? Maybe in September, in Saudi Arabia, Pereira replied.

Pereira is currently set to defend his UFC title against Magomed Ankalaev. If victorious, White has stated that Pereira could then face the winner of Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall.

However, with the new boxing promotion on the horizon and Usyk not ruling out such a fight, the possibilities for Pereira’s future just got a lot more intriguing.
