Reigning WBA and WBO cruiserweight champion Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez (47-1, 30 KO) has expressed his desire to move up to the heavyweight division and test himself against the biggest names in boxing.
"I want to move up to heavyweight. I want to challenge myself, I want to prove that I am a great fighter, one of the best. That’s exactly why I’m trying to do this.
Look at Usyk: he’s about my size, not that big, but incredibly technical – just like me. My goal is to prove my greatness, leave my mark in boxing history, and finish my career as a legend," said Ramirez.
In his last fight, Gilberto unified the cruiserweight titles by defeating British champion Chris Billam-Smith.
