Zhilei Lists Three Potential Opponents

On June 1, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during the 5 vs 5 tournament between Matchroom Boxing and Queensberry Promotions, Chinese heavyweight Zhang Zhilei (27-2-1, 22 KOs) brutally knocked out American Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) in the 5th round.

The 41-year-old Zhang spoke about that fight against the "Bronze Bomber" and shared his thoughts on his next opponent and the work being done to organize fights in his homeland.

"Our team is working on it. We want to hold a top-level fight in China so that Chinese fans can enjoy a night of boxing at home. There are many boxing fans in China, and millions watched my fight with Deontay Wilder live. So I know they are eagerly awaiting a grand fight in China. Why did Wilder perform so poorly? I have no idea. Maybe he couldn't find his opportunity, but he does have a powerful right hand. Looking back at his past fights, many fighters, including Tyson Fury, have been knocked down by him. Some of them even ended up in shock and were sent to the hospital. The power of his right hand is truly terrifying, but I managed to limit him. I have powerful hands, while Wilder's power is only in his right. I controlled him, so he had no room to attack. Next opponent? Since Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will have a rematch in December, we rule them out. But I still have many options. For example, a rematch with Joseph Parker, as we have an agreement. Anthony Joshua is also a possibility, as well as Agit Kabayel. I have many opponents to consider, and I am ready to fight any of them," said Zhang.
