Chinese heavyweight boxer Zhilei Zhang (27-2-1, 22 KOs) shared his thoughts on a potential bout with Congolese fighter Martin Bakole (21-1, 16 KOs).
“Bakole did a lot of talking and called me out for a fight, but now he’s silent. I don’t know what happened. Suddenly, he disappeared from the radar, but every time he issued a challenge, I always responded.
In every interview, I told him: ‘Yes, let’s go. Contact my team, let’s make it happen.’ But I don’t understand why he’s so quiet now. If anyone knows what happened, let me know,” said Zhang.
In June, Zhilei Zhang defeated Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) via a 5th-round technical knockout. In August, Martin Bakole stopped Jared Anderson (17-1, 15 KOs) with a 5th-round knockout.
