Zhanibek and Shiraz Have Until November 4 to Agree on a Fight

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has officially ordered Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (16-0, 11 KOs) to defend his WBO title against Hamzah Shiraz (21-0, 17 KOs).

Promotional companies Queensberry Promotions and Top Rank Boxing have submitted a request for an extension on the negotiation deadline, which the WBO committee has granted. An agreement must be reached by November 4.

If the parties cannot come to an agreement, a promotional bidding process will be initiated.

In addition to the WBO world champion title, Zhanibek Alimkhanuly holds the IBF title in the middleweight division (up to 72.6 kg). On October 4, the Kazakh boxer won by technical knockout in the 9th round against Andrei Mikhailovich (21-1, 13 KOs), defending his IBF title.

On September 21, Hamzah Shiraz stopped Tyler Denny (19-3-3, 1 KO) with a technical knockout in the 2nd round.
