Forty-one-year-old heavyweight boxer Zhang Zhilei (27-2-1, 22 KOs) shared his thoughts on the victory of WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) over Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 14 KOs).
The Chinese veteran believes the advantage was entirely on the Ukrainian’s side, and that he is now the number one fighter in the heavyweight division:
"Usyk gave a much better performance compared to the first bout. In my view, this fight was completely one-sided. Oleksandr is the real king of the heavyweight division today.
His future is up to him alone. He unified two divisions, remained undefeated at cruiserweight, and dominated at heavyweight. He’s earned the right to choose.
As for Dubois, he had a productive few years and made significant progress, but he won’t be effective against Usyk," said Zhang.
On December 21, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury for the second time in a year by unanimous decision. Following his victory in the first fight, Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight world champion (over 90.7 kg) in 25 years.
On February 22, Zhang Zhilei will face Agit Kabayel.
