"Zhang Could Have Finished Him." Parker's Promoter on the Fight Against the Chinese

The promoter of the interim WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs), David Higgins, commented on his client's victory over Zhilei Zhang (26-2-1, 21 KOs).

"I think it was almost a perfect performance from Joseph Parker. We've seen his ups and downs, but it was very gratifying for Team Parker to see him execute the plan and ramp up the pressure.

He was knocked down, and had he panicked, Zhang could have finished him at any moment. He kept to the plan, which was very encouraging and showed that an old dog can learn new tricks.

He's not old, but he has probably fought the most top opponents. He's very experienced," said Higgins.

On March 8th, Joseph Parker won by majority decision against Zhilei Zhang, even though the New Zealander was knocked down twice during the fight. Now, Joseph is the interim WBO champion and has the right to challenge the winner of the Usyk vs. Fury pair.
