Undefeated Mexican lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) William Zepeda (30-0, 26 KOs) has expressed his desire to face Ukrainian IBF and IBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs).
"I've always said that Lomachenko is one of the boxers it's a pleasure to watch. For those of us who love boxing and know what boxing is, watching his fights is a delight because of what he does and how he moves in the ring.
I really believe that since I started boxing when I was a kid, I saw boxers of his level standing out in amateur boxing, and now at such a level, it would be an honor and a pride to share the ring with him. With a fighter like him, we've always worked to fight the best. But Lomachenko undoubtedly commands respect," Zepeda said.
Zepeda is the mandatory challenger for the IBF title, which is currently held by Lomachenko. William's next fight will be against Giovanni Cabrera (22-1, 7 KOs) on July 6.
