Zepeda Claims Close Victory Over Farmer

On November 16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the undercard for the clash between Gilberto Ramirez and Chris Billam-Smith, Mexican William Zepeda (32-0, 27 KOs) faced American Tevin Farmer (33-7-1, 8 KOs) in a battle for the interim WBC lightweight title (61.2 kg).

This was the third bout of 2024 for both fighters. Zepeda previously secured stoppage victories over Maxi Hughes and Giovani Cabrera, while Farmer knocked out Alan Castillo but suffered a loss to Raymond Muratalla.

The fight went the full distance and concluded with William Zepeda earning a split decision victory – SD 10. The judges’ scores were 95-94 (Zepeda), 95-94 (Farmer), and 95-94 (Zepeda). Notably, Zepeda was knocked down in the fourth round.

This win snapped Zepeda’s streak of four consecutive stoppages. For Farmer, this marks his second straight defeat.
