On the night of March 30 in Cancún, Mexico, William Zepeda (33-0, 27 KOs) successfully defended his WBC interim lightweight title (61.2 kg / 135 lbs) in a hard-fought rematch against American veteran Tevin Farmer (33-8-1, 8 KOs).
The bout went the full distance and ended in a majority decision: 114-114, 116-112, 115-113 — in favor of Zepeda.
This marked the second meeting between the two fighters. Their first encounter took place in the fall of 2024, when Farmer became the first boxer to knock Zepeda down in his professional career. Despite that, Zepeda won the fight by split decision.
The rematch proved just as competitive, with one judge even scoring the fight a draw.
