Zakhozhyi: "The World Should Know About Ukraine"

In an interview with the YouTube channel Tike Myson, EBU heavyweight champion Oleksandr Zakhozhyi (19-0, 15 KOs) discussed his speech after defeating Granit Shala (15-1, 5 KOs).

- After defeating Shala, you gave a powerful speech mentioning Ukraine and our Armed Forces. As a boxer performing on international platforms, can you explain why it's important to talk about Ukraine around the world right now?

- The world should know about Ukraine. Every time we come—whether it's for competitions or just a training camp like when I went to France—they understand that Ukrainians, Ukrainian guys are very strong, and it's a very good nation. So, I believe it is very important that we raise the flag everywhere abroad and talk a lot about it.

On April 13th, Alexander Zakhodnyi knocked out Granit Shala and won the EBU European champion title. After the fight, Alexander thanked the Ukrainian warriors.

"I want to send a message to the Ukrainian warriors. They are currently defending our country. Huge respect to them! If it weren't for them, we wouldn't be able to be here right now, to perform and raise the Ukrainian flag. Every time we show this and just want to prove that we are heading to Europe. Ukraine above all. Glory to Ukraine, glory to the Armed Forces," said Oleksandr.
