"I'm the Underdog and a Seasoned Boxer": Lomachenko Opens Up About His Fight with Haney

Former world champion Vasyl Lomachenko recently discussed his highly anticipated match against the undisputed lightweight world champion, Devin Haney. The Ukrainian boxer expressed his satisfaction about being viewed as the underdog in this fight.

"I actually enjoy being the underdog. I prefer it to the past, when many were quick to say, 'Oh, it's going to be a walk in the park for Loma,'" Lomachenko revealed. "When you're the underdog, all you need to do is stay true to yourself and bring your best game," he was quoted by Top Rank Boxing.

In his evaluation, Lomachenko also acknowledged the prowess of his American opponent.

"Haney is a smart boxer. He grasps the subtleties of boxing and knows exactly what to do in the ring. I fully recognize his capabilities. The fight won't be a cakewalk for me, but I believe it's within my reach," the boxer added.

Lomachenko also observed that he feels less pressure compared to Haney. "Haney is under more pressure than I am. That's ideal for me. It motivates me. He needs to be concerned about it. I couldn't care less because I've already faced loss. I'm the underdog and a veteran boxer," Lomachenko explained.
