WBC super heavyweight champion Claressa Shields (15–0, 3 KOs) has laid out her case on why she could defeat heavyweight boxer and YouTuber Jake Paul.
"I don't know if it could happen, but I know that I can beat Jake Paul. Those who oppose this are simply sexist and don't understand boxing. It's very strange that they think a YouTuber could defeat a boxer who has two Olympic gold medals, has been world champion numerous times, and has fought in the heavyweight division. He lacks experience. They talk about power. You can have power, but you also need skill to land a punch. Jake Paul has shown that he hasn't improved his skills. He needs to train more and better. And honestly, I believe that the woman I’m preparing to face, Daniela Perkins, can also beat Jake Paul," Shields confidently asserted.
In his previous bout, Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson by decision. Shields’ next fight is scheduled for February 2.
