Former unified heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has arrived in Riyadh for the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
«I am here in Riyadh for the fight for the undisputed championship title.
In the senseless war that putin’s Russia has waged in Ukraine, aiming to make Ukraine disappear as a country and nation, to silence it, and then turn it to ashes. Here we are, the world will watch Saudi Arabia on Saturday night. We are not silent. Here are talented boxers, talented Olympic athletes. We Ukrainians are simply a talented nation in everything, period. I am here to say that we intend to ensure visibility and support for our country. This is a historic fight for boxing. We will get the first fully unified heavyweight champion from Ukraine. Good luck to Usyk this Saturday. Glory to Ukraine,» said Klitschko.
In the penultimate fight of his career, Wladimir faced Tyson Fury and lost by decision. Usyk will face the Briton on May 18.
