Wilder's Coach on What Prevented the Fight Against Joshua: "No Dialogue After Usyk and Fury Contract"

Malik Scott, the coach of former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, shared insights on what hindered the organization of a fight between his boxer and Anthony Joshua:

"At first, this fight (Joshua - Wilder) was scheduled for January. A month later, Fury and Usyk signed a contract for a fight, and following that, there has been no discussion regarding a showdown between Deontay and Anthony. Interest in their bout is gradually waning.

"This situation is perplexing. It's a disheartening scenario. I'm disheartened by the current state of affairs in the world of boxing," Scott expressed.

Wilder's most recent match occurred in October of the previous year, where he secured a knockout victory over Robert Helenius in the first round. On the other hand, Joshua's last bout took place in mid-August 2023, when he triumphed over Helenius via a seventh-round knockout.

Usyk and Fury inked a contract on September 29. The precise date of their confrontation is yet to be confirmed.
