Former world champion Deontay Wilder has shared his thoughts on a potential fight against Oleksandr Usyk, the holder of the WBA, WBC, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles.
“2026 is going to be a very important year for me. In the first half of the year we’re preparing something big. I’m planning to fight for the heavyweight championship against Usyk Oleksandr in the middle of the year. For all the belts. I’m looking forward to it and I can’t wait. I’m very excited,” Wilder said.
In July, Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) won his rematch against Daniel Dubois by knockout in the fifth round and became the undisputed champion of the world for the third time.
Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) last fought in June, when he stopped Tyrrell Herndon by technical knockout in the seventh round.
