The scheduled fight between former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) and Curtis Harper (18-11, 12 KOs) has been officially canceled, according to World Boxing News.
The outlet reached out to Wilder’s longtime manager, Shelly Finkel, who confirmed that the fight would not take place on April 26 in Atlanta, USA. However, Finkel declined to comment on whether Wilder was considering retirement.
This marks another setback for the Bronze Bomber, who suffered a fifth-round TKO loss to Zhang Zhilei in June—his fourth defeat in his last five fights.
Meanwhile, Harper was last seen in the ring on December 3, when he stopped Francois Russell via second-round TKO.
At this time, Wilder’s next move remains uncertain.
