Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KOs) believes that the referee in the bout between Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) robbed the Ukrainian of a knockout victory in the 9th round.
"I didn’t know who would win, but since Usyk won, I congratulate him. I believe the referee took away his knockout – you know, they always try to save someone.
Congratulations to Usyk, and I wish him all the best," Wilder said.
Usyk became a two-time undisputed champion after defeating Fury by decision.
