Deontay Wilder on His Role as Captain for Team Hearn

Former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KOs) shared how he agreed to participate in the promotional face-off between Eddie Hearn's and Frank Warren's teams and became the captain of Team Eddie, taking a philosophical approach.

"Once, an old wise man, whom you know, said that business is business, even when you're dealing with people you don't like. You have to work with people you never imagined working with, even a thousand years later. Eventually, after being around someone for a long time, understanding their path, they understand your path. You start to understand how to interact with that person, you can get along, you can coexist well," Wilder explained.

Wilder is set to face Zhilei Zhang (26-2-1, 21 KOs) on June 1st in Saudi Arabia. Should he win, Deontay will earn twice as many points for his team—4 points for a knockout victory and 2 points for a win by decision.
