Former Heavyweight World Champion Deontay Wilder responded to whether he would accept a fight with influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul, should the opportunity arise.
“If they offered me that fight, of course I’d 100% take it. He’s doing his thing in this business, even if it’s in a nontraditional way.
Some boxers get upset, but at the end of the day people love fights. They don’t care who you are or what your record is. When there’s a fight, people gather. Our fight would be a reality check. I’d give him a real experience,” Wilder said.
In June, Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) stopped Tyrell Herndon via seventh-round TKO, snapping a run of four losses in five fights.
Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) also fought in June, defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by unanimous decision. His next bout is set for November 14 against WBA Lightweight Champion Gervonta Davis.
