Wilder’s Next Fight Might Not Be Against Usyk, Says Manager

Shelly Finkel, the manager of former WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, says that the American's next opponent might not be the Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

“Yes, indeed, there is a possibility that Deontay will have a tune-up fight before the bout with Usyk,” Finkel said.

Previously, Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) personally expressed his desire to fight Wilder and received permission from the WBC for a voluntary title defense. Deontay (44-4-1, 43 KOs) mentioned that negotiations are ongoing. Later, he also expressed readiness to face Derek Chisora before stepping into the ring with Usyk.
