Former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder shared his plans for retiring from boxing.
Interviewer: How much longer do you plan to stay in boxing?
Wilder: My goal was to unify the titles, but I never had that opportunity. Many champions held titles, but whenever it came to a fight with Wilder, they immediately moved in another direction. They provided opportunities for other boxers, but not for me. So, for these special reasons, I never had such a chance.
However, unifying the belts is still my goal until the end of my career. I just need to be in the best possible shape and do my job, which I will do.
I definitely don't plan to stay in boxing for too long. But I want to achieve certain goals and dreams while I'm here. And I am definitely on the right path," said Wilder.
The 38-year-old Wilder will have his next bout on December 23 against Joseph Parker. Earlier, Anthony Joshua expressed doubt about his ability to unify the titles.
