Wilder confirmed talks with Ngannou

Former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder has disclosed that he is in talks with Francis Ngannou, a former UFC champion. In addition, Wilder has not ruled out the prospect of a fourth fight against current WBC belt holder Tyson Fury at some point in the future.

"There is a real discussion going on. We are trying to work out a two-fight deal. One may be here and the other in Africa. It will be for the 50th anniversary of Muhammad Ali's African fight."

"We will definitely repeat the match with Fury. All fighters are a possibility. We are negotiating with all boxers, especially the top level."

Earlier, Deontay Wilder's promoter Shelly Finkel had stated that Wilder might face Oleksandr Usyk, the current WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight titleholder, if the Ukrainian does not agree to a fight with Fury. Additionally, Tyson's team has not rejected the possibility of a fourth fight with Wilder.

Scheduled to fight former world champion Andy Ruiz in the spring of 2023, Wilder's trainer Malik Scott is optimistic that the fight will go ahead despite differences between the parties.

In October, Wilder knocked out Finn Robert Helenius in the first round and offered Usyk a fight after the bout.
