Deontay Wilder, the former world heavyweight champion, has expressed his readiness to fight Oleksandr Usyk, who currently holds the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight titles.
"If the fight with Oleksandr Usyk is possible, Deontay Wilder will accept the offer in an instant," emphasized Shelly Finkel, Deontay's manager.
Earlier, Egis Klimas, Oleksandr's manager, announced that the fight between the Ukrainian and WBS world champion Tyson Fury, which was scheduled for April 29, would not happen. According to Klimas, Tyson Fury's team demanded too much, and Usyk had to compromise too much.
Now, Oleksandr Usyk will prepare to defend his titles in June or July, according to one of the possible versions. He has already closed his training camp and plans to reassemble his team to face another opponent.
