In an interview with Boxing Social, British heavyweight (over 90,7 kg) contender Dillian Whyte (30-3, 19 KOs) commented on his comeback victory against Christian Hammer (27-11, 17 KOs).
"He just gave up, but what can I do? I've been through hell and darkness, so I had a lot of pent-up frustration and aggression, and it's funny because everything was calm in the camp. At some point, it had to come out; it's my nature.
Glad to be back, and glad to get back to work. Obviously, Hammer came out maneuvering, but then the pitbull in me just bit me, and then I started to rush, making silly mistakes, but now it doesn't matter.
Will I fight in the UK? I don't know, I don't care. Wherever I get work, I'll fight. Time is running out, I'm not getting any younger. I don't know what's next, I just want to fight. We'll see what happens.
Promoters? It's a game. I have 14 dogs. That's who I expect loyalty from. My dogs are the only ones who never betrayed me.
Next opponent? Anyone. I've never turned down fights. Whoever wanted – could get a fight with me," said Dillian.
The bout between Hammer and Whyte lasted only three rounds. After that, Hammer's corner announced their withdrawal from the contest.
Before this, both boxers hadn't fought since 2022. Hammer previously lost to Joe Joyce by an early knockout in the fourth round. Whyte won by a decision against Jermaine Franklin and later tested positive for banned substances in his system.
The Brit was able to return to boxing after legally proving his innocence.
