Former world title challengers Hughie Fury (29-3, 16 KOs) and Dillian Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) are in talks to square off this summer, according to GBM Sports.
The potential clash is being targeted for July at Pearse Stadium in Galway, Ireland, in what would be a major event for both fighters.
“GBM Sports will host a fight night at Pearse Stadium in Galway this July, and Hughie Fury will be part of the card,”
said GBM Sports representative Izzy Asif.
“We’ve got several high-profile names under consideration as his opponent.
Dillian Whyte is the frontrunner, as we believe that matchup would deliver fireworks — both in the arena and for viewers at home.
We’re looking forward to confirming the event details very soon.”
Fury, 30, has made a successful return to the ring in 2024 after a two-year hiatus, scoring three straight wins. He is set for a six-round bout against Dan Garber on April 4.
Whyte, 36, was originally slated to face Joe Joyce on April 5 but pulled out due to a hand injury. His manager Mike Ofo recently shared updates on Whyte’s recovery and return to full training.
