British light heavyweights Ben Whittaker (8-0-1, 5 KOs) and Liam Cameron (23-6-1, 10 KOs) have officially signed off on a 10-round fight. The bout had previously been clouded by contract confusion, with Cameron under the impression it was a 12-rounder, while Whittaker’s side had agreed to 10.
Lee Eaton, Head of Boxing at Queensberry, shared an update on social media: “Update: Team Liam Cameron has reached an agreement with BOXXER and Ben Shalom to make the Ben Whittaker fight a 10-rounder. We’re very happy with the new agreed terms and look forward to the battle on Sunday.”
Their first encounter ended in a draw after both fighters fell out of the ring in the 6th round, with Whittaker sustaining an injury that forced the fight to be stopped. Judges’ scorecards at the time reflected a dead-even contest.
