"Beauty and the Beast": Whittaker and Eubank on Potential Fight

British light heavyweight (up to 79.4 kg) Ben Whittaker (8-0, 5 KOs) and his compatriot, former super middleweight (up to 76.2 kg) champion Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs), have commented on the possibility of a future bout between them.

Ben Whittaker: "Of course, never say never. He called it a 'sexy fight'—I’d say it's more like 'Beauty and the Beast.' But yeah, you can never say 'never,' it’s a good, fantastic fight. He's a big name, and who knows? I wouldn’t say no.

It would have to be at some kind of catchweight—hopefully super middleweight. But if he's ready, so am I. Tell Turki Al-Sheikh to organize this. It works for me."

Chris Eubank Jr.: "Honestly, I’ve never thought about it. But who knows? Listen, I’ve put on weight this year up to 190 pounds (86.2 kg). I don’t know how. I’ve never been that heavy before.

I’m 34 years old, maybe the metabolism is slowing down, but I stepped on the scales and saw 190 pounds. Is that light heavyweight? Who knows?"

Both fighters are scheduled to compete on the same card on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Whittaker will face Liam Cameron (23-6, 10 KOs), and Eubank Jr. will take on Kamil Szeremeta (25-2-2, 8 KOs).
