During a podcast with Lex Fridman, UFC President Dana White shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight between blogger-boxer Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) and former undisputed champion, and Dana's close friend, Mike Tyson.
"I love Mike Tyson, but I'm not a fan of people fighting at our age. Though he's obviously an adult and will do what he's going to do.
I talked to his wife a few days ago, Mike is taking this fight seriously and is preparing for it.
I think Mike Tyson is one of the most unique guys. Any other boxer of his generation doesn't have the ability to make money without fighting, and he's made a lot even without them.
Tyson still has that aura, when you see him in a restaurant, you say: 'Holy crap, Mike Tyson's here!'.
He still has an aura and energy when you're in the same room with him. He makes a lot of money outside the ring. But I think when he gets such offers, he can't refuse them," said White.
The fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is set for July 20th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event will be broadcast on Netflix. It's currently unknown whether the bout will be an exhibition or a full-fledged fight.
