«He Was a Coward Today.» Whyte on Hammer!

British heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte (30-3, 19 KOs), in his first comment after the victory in his comeback fight, stated that his opponent, German Christian Hammer (27-11, 17 KOs), fell far short of the expectations he had hoped for.

"He was negatively disposed the whole time. As soon as I hit him, he turned negative. Later, I told him he was a coward, and I meant it seriously.

I'm so disappointed. I put so much work into preparing for this fight, and the fact that he finished the fight after three rounds is very upsetting. After that, I told him in the ring that I always respected him, but today he was a coward," said Whyte.

The bout between Hammer and Whyte lasted only three rounds. After that, Hammer's corner announced their withdrawal from the contest.

Before this, both boxers had not fought since 2022. Hammer previously lost to Joe Joyce by an early knockout in the 4th round. Whyte won by a decision against Jermaine Franklin and later tested positive for banned substances in his system. The Brit was able to return to boxing after legally proving his innocence.
