The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has officially named the mandatory challenger for their featherweight champion Rafael Espinosa (25-0, 21 KOs). The Mexican champion is set to face former world champion from Cuba, Robeisy Ramirez (14-2, 9 KOs).
The teams have been given 15 days to negotiate. If no agreement is reached, a purse bid will be ordered, with the minimum bid set at $150,000.
This bout could mark the second encounter between Espinosa and Ramirez. The first time they faced each other was in December 2023. During that fight, Rafael was knocked down and injured his leg but still managed to win by majority decision. It was this fight that crowned Espinosa as the world champion.
