The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has once again declined to approve a potential contender for a spring fight against WBC and WBO junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora (21–1–1, 13 KOs).
This time, the WBO refused to sanction American boxer Joseph Spencer (19–1, 11 KOs) as a suitable opponent for Fundora. Spencer was being considered as a replacement for Errol Spence (28–1, 22 KOs), whose candidacy was also rejected by the WBO, leading to the cancellation of the originally planned March fight.
With Spencer off the table, Fundora remains without a confirmed opponent for his upcoming bout.
Among the possible challengers under consideration is Charles Conwell (21–0, 16 KOs). Additionally, Ukrainian Serhii Bohachuk (25–2, 24 KOs) emerges as a potential contender from the WBC’s perspective.
Sebastian Fundora secured his titles in March with a split decision victory over Tim Tszyu, and he continues to seek the right opponent to defend his belts this spring. The search for an acceptable challenger remains open as negotiations and approvals continue.
