WBO Orders Callum Smith to Defend Title Against Morrell

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has formally ordered negotiations for a bout between interim WBO light‑heavyweight champion Callum Smith and David Morrell.

The camps have 30 days to reach an agreement; if they fail, the WBO will call a purse bid in line with its rules.

In February, Callum Smith (31‑2, 22 KOs) scored a unanimous‑decision win over Joshua Buatsi. On 12 July, David Morrell (12‑1, 9 KOs) edged Imam Khataev by split decision.
