The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has officially ordered a bout between American Arnold Barboza (31-0, 11 KOs) and Britain’s Jack Catterall (30-1, 13 KOs).
The fight will serve as a final eliminator to determine the mandatory challenger for the WBO super lightweight title (up to 63.5 kg), currently held by Teofimo Lopez (21-1, 13 KOs).
Both camps have 20 days to reach an agreement. Should negotiations fail within the allotted time, a purse bid will be scheduled.
On November 16, Arnold Barboza secured a unanimous decision victory over Jose Ramirez (29-2, 18 KOs). In October, Jack Catterall also claimed a unanimous decision win against Regis Prograis (29-3, 24 KOs).
