Trilogy. WBO May Sanction Fight Between Parker and Chisora

According to Sky Sports, interim WBO Heavyweight Champion Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs) and interim IBF titleholder Dereck Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) may face each other in a trilogy bout.

Parker could become the mandatory challenger for the winner of the bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois. His next fight is expected in September, and the WBO has stated it is ready to sanction a bout against Chisora.

“Yes, Parker can defend his interim title against any of the top 15 in the WBO rankings,” said WBO President Gustavo Olivieri.

Parker’s promoter David Higgins confirmed the New Zealander is open to a third fight with Chisora.

“I'm sure he wouldn't mind a third fight,” said Higgins.

Promotional company Queensberry Promotions, which represents both Parker and Chisora, is already working on plans for the coming months.

“We’re currently shaping the fall event calendar and look forward to announcing several exciting boxing nights soon,” said a Queensberry representative.

The upcoming bout will mark Chisora’s 50th professional fight. According to the British veteran himself, it will be the final one of his career. He has already faced Parker twice — losing both by split and unanimous decision.
