The World Boxing Council (WBC) has unveiled the sixth-generation design of its world championship belt, featuring significant updates to the central plate and symbolic elements.
The belt retains its iconic green color, but the central plate now includes the flags of UN member countries, along with those of Puerto Rico, the Vatican, and Palestine. One notable change is the replacement of the Russian flag with that of Saudi Arabia.
"The WBC belt is much more than an object. It represents years of training, sacrifice, and dedication. It serves as a reminder that, despite cultural and linguistic differences, boxing unites us all under the shared spirit of competition and camaraderie," stated the organization.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán emphasized that this trophy remains a symbol of excellence and sporting dedication.
"The WBC belt is a treasure that reflects the best of boxing. It is an honor for us to present the sixth generation of this symbol of excellence to our champions and all boxing fans," said Sulaimán.
