The World Boxing Council (WBC) has sanctioned a Bantamweight bout between the No. 1 and No. 2 contenders, Tenshin Nasukawa and Takuma Inoue.
If the parties fail to reach an agreement, a purse bid will be held on October 21, 2025.
The WBC and IBF Bantamweight world titles (118 lbs / 53.5 kg) became vacant after Junto Nakatani moved up to Super Bantamweight. On December 27, Nakatani will face Sebastian Reyes.
Takuma Inoue (20-2, 5 KOs), the younger brother of Naoya Inoue, has not fought since October 2024, when he lost his WBA Bantamweight title by unanimous decision to Seiya Tsutsumi.
Tenshin Nasukawa (7-0, 2 KOs), a former MMA and kickboxing star who turned professional in boxing in 2023, last fought in June, when he defeated Victor Santillan by unanimous decision.
