The World Boxing Council (WBC) has officially sanctioned a fight between Mexican Jaime Munguia (44-1, 35 KOs) and Frenchman Christian Mbilli (28-0, 23 KOs) for the WBC interim super middleweight title (up to 76.2 kg).
This bout will determine the next mandatory challenger for the WBC super middleweight world title, currently held by Mexican superstar Saúl Álvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs).
On December 14, Munguia will have his fourth fight of 2024 against Bruno Suras. Earlier this year, Munguia defeated John Ryder and Erik Bazinyan but lost to Saúl Álvarez via unanimous decision over 12 rounds.
In 2024, Christian Mbilli has fought three times, earning victories against Roan Murdoch, Mark Heffron, and Sergiy Derevyanchenko.
