WBC Sanctions Next Fight for Haney

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has officially sanctioned a fight between the American WBC junior welterweight champion (up to 140 lbs) Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) and the Spanish mandatory challenger Sandor Martin (42-3, 15 KOs). Promotional bids are set for June 18.

On the night of April 21, Devin Haney lost by majority decision to Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs). Despite the loss, Devin remains the WBC champion since Ryan did not make weight and was not eligible for the title.

Sandor Martin knocked out Mohamed El Marcouchi (29-4, 12 KOs) in December.
