WBC Sanctions Bivol vs. Beterbiev Bout

In a comment to World Boxing News, the manager of WBA and WBO champion Dmitry Bivol (22-0, 11 KOs) revealed that all light heavyweight titles (up to 79.4 kg) will be at stake in the upcoming bout against WBC and IBF champion Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs).

"The fight is signed and sealed with our stamp, as I've mentioned before. As far as I know, the WBC will sanction the bout," said Kornilov.

Previously, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman stated that no Russian fighter would contest for their organization's title while Russia is at war in Ukraine. Bivol represents Russia in the professional boxing ring.

The bout is likely to take place on June 1st in Saudi Arabia. The undercard may feature bouts between Zhilei – Wilder and Dubois – Hrgovic.
