WBC president spoke about a possible fight between Usyk and Fury
President of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Mauricio Suleiman shared his opinion about a possible duel between Usyk and Fury. He supports the idea of holding this meeting.
For the title of absolute champion, Oleksandr Usyk lacks the WBC belt, which Fury now owns.
“We have given Tyson time to weigh the situation and be ready to make a final decision by this Friday, August 26. We are awaiting written confirmation from him on what he intends to do next.
In my opinion, boxing is going through a wonderful phase, and it will be very cool to see Fury vs Usyk for the title of undisputed champion.
Now it is August, we still have time to agree on a fight before the end of the year, or at the beginning of 2023. If this battle happens, it will be a huge event, wherever he is. I need time to prepare the appropriate marketing, and the boxers need time to prepare for the fight physically and mentally,” Suleiman said.
